BRINKMAN TECHNOLOGIES INC. SELECTS ROBERT T. "TED" WILHITE
AS PRESIDENT, CEO
Veteran banker sees tremendous opportunities with BTI's ACH, Internet-based product offerings
Dallas, Texas - April 26, 2001 - Brinkman Technologies, Inc. (BTI), a leading provider of PC, Internet and wireless financial solutions, is pleased to announce the appointment of Robert T. "Ted" Wilhite as the president and CEO of Brinkman Technologies.
Mr. Wilhite replaces Mark Brinkman, who will continue to serve as BTI's chairman and chief technology officer (CTO). Mr. Brinkman nominated Mr. Wilhite as his successor to allow Mr. Brinkman to dedicate more time to his CTO responsibilities for both BTI and its affiliated company, NextBill.com.
BTI's growth and significant technology developments into electronic payment processing and wireless financial services, including projects in Bluetooth wireless technology, led to Mr. Wilhite's selection. BTI has tasked Mr. Wilhite with the management and expansion of the company's strategic technology partnerships while furthering corporate growth strategies and initiatives. BTI plans to leverage Mr. Wilhite's experience in the financial industry along with the company's expanded product line to more aggressively pursue market share and alliances in the U.S., Europe, and Asia.
"Rather than forcing financial institutions to adapt to new technologies, BTI has always developed technology from the perspective of the banking industry. Ted's vast knowledge of the financial industry will further enhance our product offerings. His corporate experience will allow BTI to deal effectively with recent growth and technology developments," said Mark Brinkman.
"I came to BTI because of its impressive product lines. I feel that BTI's current and planned initiatives involving products based on the Federal Reserve's Automated Clearing House System (ACH) will profoundly change the face of banking," said Mr. Wilhite. "More importantly, however, I came to BTI because of the incredible team that developed these products."
Mr. Wilhite brings a wealth of executive level banking experience to BTI, holding the position of president at Regency Bank of Florida. He served as senior vice president of Landmark Banking Corporation and First Fidelity Bank, both located in Florida. He also held the position of executive vice president at Florida-based Freedom Savings Bank.
Mr. Wilhite has an active history of civic and community involvement. In 1996, he was appointed by the secretary of defense as the chair of the Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) for the state of Florida.
