BEACON ENTERPRISE SYSTEMS TO RESELL NEXTBILL EBPP SYSTEM
Enterprise solutions provider targeting utility companies with turnkey "e-billing" system
DALLAS (August 15, 1999).Brinkman Technologies, Inc. (BTI) announced today that Beacon Enterprise Systems of Grapevine, Texas has signed a reseller agreement to become an authorized sales agent of BTI's NextBill Electronic Bill Presentment and Payment (EBPP) system. The NextBill system is a turnkey electronic billing solution that uses e-mail as the mode of bill delivery and the Federal Reserve's ACH system as the means of processing payments.
Beacon, a specialist in providing technological solutions to national and international utility companies, recognized the value a turnkey EBPP system could offer its clients. With NextBill, Beacon will be able to offer an electronic billing solution that enables a utility or other biller to send its bills and receive payment information via e-mail. The opportunity to reduce the costs of producing and mailing paper bills, which can run a biller as much as seventy-five cents per bill, will mean significant cost savings for Beacon's clients.
"Utility companies have a tremendous opportunity to reduce the costs of their billing operations," says Bob Kantin, BTI's Vice President of Marketing. "A financial analysis we recently prepared for a utility company demonstrated how NextBill could reduce their cost of billing and payment processing from 44 cents per bill to less than 20 cents per bill. Over a five year period, their cost per bill would be reduced to seven cents per bill with a Return on Investment of 475%."
"We've been providing Y2K solutions for our clients, but now that those issues have been resolved, we see electronic billing as our next big service opportunity," says Dale Martin, president of Beacon Enterprise Systems. "The decision to offer NextBill comes after months of considering our options - from partnering with other vendors to building an e-billing solution of our own - but nothing could compare to the NextBill system."
