BRINKMAN TECHNOLOGIES, INC. TO OFFER FREE SOFTWARE AS ECONOMIC STIMULUS

DALLAS.... (Nov. 1, 2001)- Brinkman Technologies, Inc. (BTI), a leading vendor of Internet banking, Electronic Bill/Invoice Presentment and Payment (EB/IPP), and ACH software, announced today that its board of directors has approved a program to offer all of the company's financial software solutions free of license fees until November 30, 2001.

The program will eliminate license fees on the company's Internet banking, cash management, ACH origination, and EBPP/EIPP solutions. License fees on these products range from $15,000 to more than $250,000 per site. The board has not placed a limit on the number of new clients it will accept under the terms of the program. BTI will coordinate new implementations on a first-come-first-served basis until the program expires November 30.

Mark Brinkman, BTI's founder and chairman, stated that this program is being offered to help speed economic recovery and continued growth in the business and financial industries that use BTI's products.

"Current world tension has created an economic uncertainty which, in some cases, is being cited as a reason to delay new purchases. BTI hopes that this program will help several industries whose growth has been seriously affected by the recent economic instabilities," Brinkman said.

"While some financial institutions and billers continue to make major systems purchases, we believe that an even larger segment of the industry is delaying the acquisition of key systems to ascertain the general direction of the economy," said Ted Wilhite, president and CEO of BTI. "Today, delivery of bills and payments over the Internet has an even greater significance because of the threats and realities of terrorism. We want to give businesses every reason to maintain momentum without the burden of a significant financial impact at a time when they feel they can least afford it."

Our obvious priority is the continued success of our clients and the establishment of long-term, mutually beneficial relationships. This is a step we gladly take to insure that success," said Craig Yarbrough, senior vice president of e-Commerce and banking.

"Custom programming and source code contracts are not available under this program. Also excluded are our military command and control and reverse auction/acquisition products, as well as our Section 508 consulting contracts," Yarbrough added.

To ensure equity to those companies currently in possession of valid proposals for any of the products included in the program, BTI is reissuing proposals to reflect revised pricing.

"We know that this is a difficult time for many businesses. We did not want to limit the program to new clients and have taken the necessary steps to extend benefits to our existing clients as well as those with whom we had been negotiating prior to this announcement."
