BTI UNVEILS POWERLINE INTERNET BANKING SYSTEM
System Could Revolutionize Electronic Bill Payment by Allowing Consumers to originate ACH & EDI Transactions

DALLAS (November 21, 1998).Brinkman Technologies Incorporated (BTI) announces the release of its PowerLine Internet banking system. In addition to fundamental banking functions, users of PowerLine Internet can interface with BTI's Core ACH Processing System, which allows retail customers to originate Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) transactions.

"PowerLine Internet essentially allows consumers to originate EDI transactions without a third party," said Mark Brinkman, President of BTI. "This can result in substantial savings to the consumer and increased profits for banks. Third party processors traditionally charge up to 50 cents per transaction. The use of PowerLine Internet could cost consumers less than 10 cents per transaction because banks will handle the bill payments directly rather than through the third party processors."

PowerLine Internet receives and processes customer originated transactions and other account processing requests such as: account transfers, loan payments, bill payments, stop payments, check orders and e-mail. It maintains all required information for recurring EDI bill payment transactions.

The PowerLine Internet system maintains and displays 30 or more days of transaction history detail and totals including deposits, credits, checks, withdrawals and debits. The system also displays detailed transaction information such as date, description, amount and check number. Customers can sort checks by date, date range, description or check number.
