PowerLine Wireless

Stuck in a cab in the heart of Manhattan…Hiking in Death Valley… Sipping your favorite drink on the beach in Maui… Trapped in a never ending meeting with the Boss…

What do all of these situations have in common? It doesn’t matter where you are or what you are doing, if you can’t get to the bank, it is never a good time to remember that you should have transferred money from your savings account in Boston to your checking account in L.A. What about that bill you forgot to pay or the $100 you owe your brother? You don’t have to feel helpless in these situations anymore!

Welcome to the limitless and mobile world of PowerLine™ Wireless. BTI along with our subsidiary NextBill.com are proud to announce the most feature rich and technologically advanced wireless financial product delivered to date. Through our partnerships and our association with Los Angeles-based GUS Networks, we have also extended our marketing arm to Europe, the Americas, and Asia.

PowerLine™ Wireless delivers access to account balances and transactions, reordering checks, and transfer of funds between accounts at the PowerLine™ Wireless client bank. But if this was all we were able to offer, we would be no different from many other wireless application service providers. To differentiate our wireless product from the competitive projects announced so far, BTI needed to do several things.

The first goal was to bring the most advanced product to market and have it fully operational long before the competition could complete their announced R&D projects. The second goal was to offer functionality that no one else currently offers. The final goal was to base the system on the proven and tested financial products of BTI. In all cases, we have met or exceeded project expectations.

We are proud to offer in addition to the basic features listed above, the following PowerLine™ Wireless capabilities:

PowerLine™ Wireless co-branded with the client bank name/logo

- Delivery of financial information to most all Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) devices including Palm™, Handspring, and HP handheld computers (with wireless service), digital cell phones, and two way pagers such as the Blackberry® by RIM Technologies.

- Funds transfers to/from wireless customer's own accounts at other banks

- Electronic bill payment (pay anyone) from the wireless device

Later this year, we will add the ability for customers to see the balances of their accounts at other banks and we will incorporate our NextBill.com Electronic Bill Presentment / Bill Payment (EBPP) technology to allow the bank and other billers to present summary bills for display on the wireless device that can then be paid from the same wireless device.

You are invited to check out the NextBill.com web site at www.NextBill.com. We are proud to join Airborne Express in announcing that they have entered a growing group of global companies that have selected NextBill.com as their EBPP vendor. You may be interested to know that this is the same EBPP services we offer our client banks for mortgage and loan payment processing.

BTI is certain that PowerLine™ Wireless is going to make a positive impact on consumers’ expectations of wireless technology. Never before have people been able to carry the equivalent of multiple ATM's, the wire transfer department, and their Internet banking product in their pocket.

“All of the market research that I’ve seen indicates that the average users of wireless technology are young, mobile, affluent, and more importantly willing to do business with companies progressive enough to cater to their mobile lifestyle,” said Craig Yarbrough, BTI’s senior vice president e-Commerce and banking. “PowerLine™ Wireless will give banks an excellent opportunity to capture significant portions of this emerging market. We will deliver in Q1 of this year what other wireless ventures have promised to deliver in 2002 or later. Our strategy was to develop a wireless product that is universally affordable with little or no ongoing transaction fees, bring it to market before the competition, and then hit the ground running.”
